Gathered Friends Welcome 2026
A group of friends, including actors Paul Mescal, Gracie Abrams, and Daisy Edgar-Jones, were recently photographed together as they rang in the New Year. The joyful image, shared by Irish actor Fionn O’Shea on Instagram, showcases the close-knit friends celebrating the arrival of 2026.
In O’Shea’s post, captured on December 31, eleven friends posed happily together, reflecting a strong camaraderie. This gathering included Mescal’s Normal People co-star Edgar-Jones and fellow Gladiator II cast member Fred Hechinger.
O’Shea, who starred alongside Mescal, 29, and Edgar-Jones, 27, in the critically acclaimed 2020 Hulu series Normal People, simply captioned the photo, "2026. X."

A Lasting Bond
Both Mescal and Edgar-Jones have maintained their friendship since their breakout roles in Normal People. The duo has frequently been seen together at various events, including the 2022 Met Gala. In a recent interview, Edgar-Jones referred to Mescal as one of her “lifetime best friends,” expressing excitement about their future.
Edgar-Jones also sparked enthusiasm among fans regarding a possible second season of Normal People when she posted a selfie with Mescal in May 2024, hinting at forthcoming news.
Hechinger, 26, remains closely connected with both Mescal and Abrams, with the White Lotus star recently spotted alongside Abrams at the Glastonbury Festival in June 2025.
