Pasadena Vigil Expresses Support for Those Affected by ICE Detention
Vigil Held in Pasadena Following Immigration Raids
Pasadena witnessed a poignant vigil on Monday responding to a series of immigration enforcement raids that unfolded earlier in the day. According to the National Day Laborer Organizing Network (NDLON), these operations resulted in the detention of three to seven individuals near the intersection of Raymond Street and Villa Avenue.
Attendees gathered at the vigil, holding candles and signs denouncing the immigration raids, demonstrating their solidarity with those impacted. As the community came together, Selena Ayala, whose husband was detained during the raids, shared her concerns with the crowd. "No matter the situation, he would always try his best to provide for us," she said. "During the fires last year, he tried his best to help others no matter how difficult the situation was. I have faith in God that he will protect my husband no matter what happens."
The vigil attracted a diverse assembly, including religious leaders, activists, and concerned community members, highlighting a strong collective response to the recent actions by immigration agents.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has not yet responded to inquiries from NBC4 regarding the operations and the reported detentions.
