Chase Infiniti, star of the upcoming film One Battle After Another, shared insights about her early interactions with co-star Leonardo DiCaprio in a recent interview. Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE, Infiniti revealed that their first conversation centered around a 2002 movie she enjoys, which surprisingly was not Titanic—a classic she only viewed last year.
Reflecting on her connection to DiCaprio, Infiniti noted, “Do you know what’s crazy? I didn’t watch Titanic until last year. I had not seen it. My Leo film was Catch Me If You Can,” highlighting her admiration for the 2002 film featuring DiCaprio alongside Tom Hanks. “Great film. I love that film so much. So that’s the Leo film for me.”
Infiniti plays the character Willa in director Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another, a story in which her character’s revolutionary parents, played by DiCaprio and Teyana Taylor, confront military adversaries. During the production, Infiniti had the opportunity to discuss Catch Me If You Can with DiCaprio. “There’s a musical that’s based off that film,” she remarked. “And one of my early conversations with him was literally about that film.”
In a recent appearance on the Today show, she described the lengthy audition process for One Battle After Another, which spanned about five to six months. This followed her submission of a self-tape while filming her debut in the Apple TV+ miniseries Presumed Innocent alongside Jake Gyllenhaal.
Recalling her experiences with DiCaprio, who is 50, and Anderson, 55, Infiniti expressed gratitude for their kindness during the whirlwind of filming. “I’m so grateful for the entire experience,” she emphasized.
