Oscar Isaac Teams Up with Netflix for New Vegas Series After Successful Partnership
Insiders report that actor Oscar Isaac and Netflix are nearing a creative partnership agreement. This deal will grant Netflix first-look rights on film and series projects produced by Isaac, along with Elvira Lind and Gena Konstantinakos at their production company, Mad Gene.
Netflix has ordered an eight-episode casino drama series, set in the high-stakes Las Vegas casino landscape. Titled “Casino,” the show centers on Robert “Bobby Red” Redman (Isaac), the president of a premier hotel casino, who must navigate challenging decisions to maintain his position and expand his influence.

In addition to his starring role, Isaac will serve as an executive producer alongside Koppelman and Levien, with their producing partner Paul Schiff (Rushmore). The production team also includes Martin Scorsese and Sikelia Productions, Julie Yorn and Rick Yorn for Expanded Media, and former Billions writer-producer Beth Schacter, with Kerry Orent (The Better Sister) as co-executive producer.
This new collaboration comes on the heels of Isaac’s recent successes, including his Golden Globe-nominated performance in Guillermo del Toro’s adaptation of Frankenstein, where he portrayed Dr. Frankenstein. He followed this with a critically acclaimed role in the second season of Beef, sharing the screen with Carey Mulligan. This trajectory has strengthened the relationship between Isaac and Netflix, prompting the exploration of a first-look deal.
The upcoming series represents a strategic follow-up project, given the star power involved and its significance for Netflix’s future programming slate. Filming is slated to commence this summer.
Additionally, Netflix has recently acquired the Julian Schnabel film Hand of Dante, which stars Isaac and is set for release this summer.
Isaac is represented by WME and attorney Mitch Smelkinson.
