Orlando Von Einsiedel’s ‘The Cycle of Love’ Secures U.S. Deal with Priyanka Chopra’s Executive Production and International Partnerships from Dogwoof
Variance Films to Distribute ‘The Cycle of Love’ in the U.S. This August
Variance Films has announced its acquisition of The Cycle of Love, an intimate journey directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Orlando von Einsiedel, known for his work on Virunga. The film is set for theatrical release in the United States this August.
Produced by Priyanka Chopra-Jonas, the film tells the compelling true story of PK, a 23-year-old street artist from Delhi. Armed with just a few paintbrushes and a second-hand bicycle, he embarks on a remarkable 6,000-mile journey across Europe and Asia with the goal of finding Lotta, the woman who stole his heart during her visit to India. PK’s quest, fueled by a sense of fate and an astrologer’s prophecy that eerily matches Lotta’s description, unfolds as a profound exploration of love, identity, and transformation.
In the UK and Ireland, Dogwoof is set to release the film in September and has secured international distribution agreements with several companies, including Madman in Australia and New Zealand; Filmwelt in Germany and Austria; Praesens in Switzerland; Filmin in Spain and Portugal; and Bantam in Benelux. Additionally, Dogwoof has arranged for a screening at the Cannes market.
For U.S. distribution, the deal was negotiated by Variance’s Dylan Marchetti and Ryan Harrington on behalf of BD4.
The film is a collaboration of several production companies, including Grain Media, Purple Pebble Pictures, Kalabati Pictures, BD4, AMPL, and Artemis Rising. Think-Film, which has previously contributed to successful campaigns for Oscar-winning films like Navalny, has also joined the team to develop an impact campaign to coincide with the theatrical release. The movie originally premiered at the Telluride Film Festival.
Dylan Marchetti, President and Founder of Variance Films, expressed enthusiasm for the project, stating, “Orlando has crafted something special here, and we fell hard for The Cycle of Love about ten minutes into the film. It’s beautiful, warm, and one of those rare films where you catch yourself smiling throughout. We think audiences will agree, and can’t wait to share it with them this summer.”
Think-Film praised the movie’s unique perspective, noting, “We live in a world which perpetuates the idea that love is only about intimate relationships, but Orlando has masterfully crafted an inspirational tale of how kinship can lead you on the greatest adventure of all and fulfill a part of yourself you never knew you needed. I can’t remember the last time I cried tears of joy – this film is a must-see!”
