Brendan Fraser Shares His Journey to Get Fit for ‘The Mummy 4’ and Asks for Your Support
As Brendan Fraser revives his iconic role as Rick O’Connell, anticipation grows for the fourth installment of The Mummy franchise, which marks a significant return after two decades.
Fraser recently confirmed his participation on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, expressing enthusiasm for reuniting with the original cast. “Well, we’re gonna get the band back together,” he stated. “The only way to do it. So, we are going to give the audience what they have been bothering all of us for, for the last twenty-whatever years.”
The Oscar-winning actor reflected on the long wait for this sequel, stating, “I was hopeful for a long while, and then I was like, ‘I don’t know if they are.’ Then other Mummy movies got made.” He indicated excitement about revisiting familiar locations while humorously cautioning against revealing too much. “I should probably stop talking like this,” he said.
Fraser is committed to getting in shape for the role, saying, “However, please wish me luck. I’m doing my best to get this 57-year-old gear in shape.”
Fraser’s journey with the character began with the original The Mummy in 1999 and continued with The Mummy Returns in 2001, both alongside Rachel Weisz. Although he reprised his role in The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (2008), Weisz did not return, and Maria Bello took over the role of Evelyn Carnahan.
The prospect of this long-anticipated sequel has generated buzz among fans eager to see the beloved characters return to the big screen.
