New ‘Supergirl’ Footage Shows Tech Pirates and Spider Droids in Action on an Interplanetary Space Bus at CinemaCon
Milly Alcock Takes on the Role of Supergirl in Upcoming Film Adaptation
In a thrilling new glimpse into the world of DC Comics, Milly Alcock portrays Supergirl as she battles spider droids and pirates aboard a rugged interplanetary bus, only to find herself spiraling into space. This fresh take on the iconic character is featured in the upcoming film Supergirl, which draws inspiration from Tom King’s 2022 comic series Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, illustrated by Bilquis Evely.
The story follows Supergirl and a young alien girl named Knoll as they embark on a quest across the galaxy to confront Krem of the Yellow Hill, who has brutally murdered Knoll’s father.
Fans first caught a brief glimpse of Alcock in her Supergirl role in the closing moments of James Gunn’s Superman, which earned an impressive $618 million globally last summer. The trailer for Supergirl was officially released on March 31, generating considerable excitement.
Alongside Alcock as Kara Zor-El, the film features a strong supporting cast, including Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem of the Yellow Hills, Eve Ridley as Ruthye Marye Knoll, David Krumholtz as Zor-El, Emily Beecham as Alura In-Ze, and Jason Momoa as Lobo. Directed by Craig Gillespie, the screenplay is adapted by Ana Nogueira, with production led by DC Studios heads Peter Safran and Gunn, alongside executive producers Nigel Gostelow, Chantal Nong Vo, and Lars P. Winther.
Supergirl is set to be released in theaters and IMAX across North America on June 26.
CinemaCon is currently underway, taking place at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas and running through Thursday.
