New Seasons of Love Is Blind: Habibi and AlKhallat+ Now Available on Netflix MENA
Netflix has announced a second season of Love is Blind: Habibi along with a television adaptation of the successful YouTube film-turned-feature AlKhallat+. These projects are part of a new slate focused on content from the MENA region.
The announcement was made during an event that showcased projects designed to “champion bold voices and authentic tales from across the Arab world.” More Netflix announcements from various global regions are expected later this week.
Love is Blind: Habibi, part of the popular Netflix franchise, will return alongside a fourth season of Dubai Bling.
Egyptian actress Noor Alghandour is also making a comeback on Netflix following the success of Honeymoonish. Her new romantic comedy, Love in Slow Motion, explores how protagonist Haya’s life is disrupted by her best friend Jawad’s (Ali Kakooli) unexpected engagement.
AlKhallat+ expands on the original movie, which garnered more than 1.5 billion views across social media platforms. The synopsis describes the series as an exploration of city dwellers stepping outside their comfort zones, only to discover the desert’s unique rules and humor. The cast includes Mohammed Aldokhei, Ziyad Alamri, Malik Nejer, and several poets.
Additionally, Netflix MENA has greenlit Chasing Shadows, a show centered on a master con artist who turns deception into an art form. Another project titled Obsess features Yagoub Alfarhan and Haya Abdel Salam in a psychological horror narrative about a man returning to face his past demons.
From the Ashes: The Pit, set to launch in just three days, continues the story from its predecessor, leading characters into a new chapter marked by shifting loyalties and unresolved emotional turmoil stemming from a past fire.
Throughout the week, Netflix is set to reveal additional content slates in Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, Spain, and Italy.
