Netflix’s ‘Museum of Innocence’: A Heartfelt Tale of Love and Obsession Set in 1970s Turkey – Release Date and Teaser Inside
Selahattin Paşalı and Eylül Lize Kandemir make an impactful appearance in the first-look clip for Netflix’s upcoming Turkish mini-series, Museum of Innocence.
The clip portrays Kemal, played by Paşalı, and Füsun, portrayed by Kandemir, walking on opposite sides of a bustling Istanbul street in the 1970s. Their initial gazes convey longing and connection, but the mood quickly shifts to confusion and concern as the characters part ways along an adjoining road.
Netflix has announced a premiere date of February 13 for the nine-episode drama series, which adapts the acclaimed novel by Nobel Prize-winning author Orhan Pamuk. The series shares its title with both the book and an Istanbul museum established by Pamuk.
Museum of Innocence is described as a "multi-layered narrative of love, happiness, obsession, longing, and missed opportunities," exploring the complex relationship between Kemal, a member of a wealthy family, and Füsun, a poor and distant relative. In his efforts to express his feelings for her, Kemal collects her personal items, from earrings to cigarette butts, raising questions about the nature of his affection.
Joining Paşalı and Kandemir in the cast are Oya Unustası, Tilbe Saran, Bülent Emin Yarar, Gülçin Kültür Şahin, Ercan Kesal, Hasan Erdem, Zeynep Dinsel, Tolga İskit, Onur Ünsal, Jessica Taşçı, Enes Danış, Eren Kabatepe, Aybike Turan, Tayfun Gül, Cem Bayurgil, Tugay Erdoğan, Ahmet Yalçın, İskender Bağcılar, Neslihan Arslan, Bora Akın, and Cansel Elçin.
Pamuk serves as the writer for the series, with Ertan Kurtulan as the screenwriter. Zeynep Günay is directing, while Kerem Çatay produces under the banner of Ay Yapim.
