Netflix Brings Back Danish Undercover Agent Show ‘The Asset’ for a Second Season
Netflix has officially renewed the Danish crime series The Asset for a second season, following its successful debut last October.
The series centers on a young undercover agent who develops a relationship with the wife of a drug smuggler. The first season quickly garnered attention, reaching the number one slot in 52 countries and landing in the top 10 in 90, accumulating 11.3 million views overall.
Returning cast members for Season 2 include Clara Dessau, Maria Cordsen, Afshin Firouzi, and Nicolas Bro. While specific details about the upcoming season remain limited, Netflix has teased that the agents will face their "greatest challenges yet in the fight for survival and justice."
The Asset is produced by Profile Pictures, with Samanou Acheche Sahlstrøm serving as both the Conceptual Designer and lead writer alongside Frederik Ringtved. The episode producers include Johanne Algren, Oscar Giese, and Christian Bengtson, while Jacob Jarek, Marta Mleczek, and Matilda Appelin handle production duties.
“It’s truly heartwarming to see how well The Asset has been received,” Sahlstrøm expressed. “We’re thrilled for the opportunity to dive deeper into each character and unfold their stories for our viewers. This second season turns everything upside down as Tea and Ashley’s worlds collide once again and new challenges push them to their breaking point.”
Production for Season 2 is set to begin in Copenhagen later this year.
