Netflix Announces Premiere Date and First Look at ‘Vladimir’ Limited Series
Netflix has announced that its limited series adaptation of Vladimir, written by Julia May Jonas, will make its debut on March 5, 2026.
The series features a talented cast, including Rachel Weisz in the role of M, Leo Woodall as the titular character Vladimir, John Slattery as John, Ellen Robertson as Sid, and Jessica Henwick as Cynthia.
The logline describes the series as exploring the life of “a passionate but reckless professor whose world begins to unravel as she becomes dangerously fixated on her magnetic new colleague. As boundaries blur and secrets simmer, she’ll risk everything to bring her most scandalous fantasies to life.”
Weisz embodies the professor, while Woodall portrays her intriguing counterpart. The series promises a blend of seduction, obsession, and forbidden desires, all laced with sharp wit and captivating, unpredictable performances.
The cast also includes Matt Walsh, Kayli Carter, Miriam Silverman, Mallori Johnson, Tattiawna Jones, and Louise Lambert.
Comprising eight half-hour episodes, Vladimir is created, written, and executive produced by Julia May Jonas. The executive production team also includes Sharon Horgan, Stacy Greenberg, Kira Carstensen (Merman), Jason Winer, Jon Radler (Small Dog Picture Company), and Shari Springer Berman & Robert Pulcini.
Sharon Horgan initially teased her involvement in the project alongside author Jonas in December 2024, shortly after the conclusion of her Apple TV show Bad Sisters. The series was officially greenlighted in March 2025, coinciding with the casting of Weisz, followed by Woodall’s casting as the lead character in July.
Directors for the series include Shari Springer Berman & Robert Pulcini (Episodes 101 and 102), Francesca Gregorini (Episodes 103, 106, and 107), and Josephine Bornebusch (Episodes 104 and 105).
Produced by 20th Television, along with Merman and Small Dog Picture Company, the series was filmed in Toronto, Canada.
