Michelle Williams and Daisy Edgar-Jones Shine in New Footage from Neon’s ‘A Place In Hell’ at CinemaCon
Neon has released the first trailer for its upcoming psychological thriller, A Place In Hell, slated to debut on December 25. The film, written and directed by Chloe Domont, known for Fair Play, stars Michelle Williams and Daisy Edgar-Jones as rival lawyers embroiled in a high-stakes legal battle.
In a gripping moment from the trailer, Edgar-Jones’ character confronts Williams’ seasoned attorney, declaring, “I’m not just going to replace you … I am going to destroy your f–king life. It’s you or me.” This tense exchange highlights the fierce competition and escalating conflict between the two powerful characters.
The trailer was showcased during CinemaCon, the annual entertainment industry conference held this week in Las Vegas. A Place In Hell features Williams as a criminal defense attorney on the cusp of partnership, whose aspirations are threatened by the arrival of a younger counterpart, played by Edgar-Jones. As they both vie for control over a complicated case, their rivalry pushes them to dangerous limits.
Produced by MRC and T-Street, with Neon and Republic Pictures co-financing, the film promises a thrilling exploration of ambition and morality in the legal world.
In addition to A Place In Hell, Neon also unveiled a teaser for the sci-fi thriller Hope, directed by Na Hong-Jin. Set to compete at next month’s Cannes Film Festival, Hope follows police chief Bum-seok as he grapples with the appearance of a tiger in his remote village near the Demilitarized Zone, leading to growing panic among the locals. The international cast features renowned actors including Hwang Jung-min, Zo In-sung, Hoyeon, Alicia Vikander, Michael Fassbender, Taylor Russell, and Cameron Britton.
Neon also previewed upcoming horror films, including Hokum and Leviticus, starring Adam Scott, as well as Boots Riley’s highly anticipated absurdist comedy, I Love Boosters.
