Michael Strassner to Star in Indie Comedy ‘Tuesday, New York’ Alongside David Krumholtz
Michael Strassner Takes Lead Role in Indie Comedy ‘Tuesday, New York’
Michael Strassner, known for his work as a writer, producer, and star of the beloved holiday dramedy The Baltimorons, has completed filming for a leading role in the indie comedy Tuesday, New York. The film, written and directed by Alex Beh and produced under his Watson Pictures banner, also features David Krumholtz, known for his role in Oppenheimer. The production took place in Manhattan.
In Tuesday, New York, Strassner portrays a member of a trio of friends embarking on a serious yet whimsical journey through the city to find a sewing needle for a pair of torn jeans. Together with Peter Vack and Omar Salazar, the characters navigate old wounds, unexpected romantic twists, and ponder whether it’s ever too late to mend their lives.
Beh compares the film to a mix of Clerks, Swingers, and Before Sunset, referring to it as a “moving Breakfast Club or My Dinner with Andre, on foot.” He produced the film alongside Cole Spike.
Additional cast members include Michael Vlamis, who recently worked on Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, and Erica Dasher, known for her role in Jane by Design.
Strassner’s The Baltimorons debuted at the 2025 SXSW Film Festival, where it received the Audience Award. Directed by Jay Duplass, the film centers on Cliff Cashen (played by Strassner), a newly sober improv comedian whose dental emergency leads to an unexpected romance with his dentist, portrayed by Liz Larsen. The film has been nominated for the John Cassavetes Award at this year’s Independent Spirit Awards, and was named one of the top 10 independent films by the National Board of Review.
Strassner has also recently completed filming the indie project The Musical, co-starring Rob Lowe and Gillian Jacobs. He was last seen in the award-winning FX comedy series English Teacher. His representation includes Paradigm, Stride Management, and Yorn, Levine, Barnes.
Beh previously starred in the romantic comedy-drama Warren alongside John Heard, Jean Smart, and Andrew Santino, and is represented by Matt Wallerstein.
Vack is represented by Untitled Entertainment and Jackoway Austen Tyerman, while Salazar is represented by Tlynn Talent Management. Krumholtz’s representation includes Paradigm, Brookside Artist Management, and Sloane, Offer, Wener & Dern. Vlamis is repped by CESD and Artist First; Dasher by Zero Gravity Management and Goodman, Genow, Schenkman.
