Meet the Newest Inductees in the California Hall of Fame for 2026
Los Angeles Takes Center Stage in 19th Annual California Hall of Fame Induction
The 2026 class of the California Hall of Fame, announced on Tuesday, showcases an impressive lineup of politicians, entertainers, and Olympians, all tied closely to Los Angeles. This year marks the 19th induction ceremony, set to take place on March 19 at the California Museum, with Governor Gavin Newsom and First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom hosting the event.
Governor Newsom noted the significance of this year’s class in a statement: "From the State Capitol to Los Angeles, from bestselling books to Olympic triumphs, the inductees of the 19th class of the California Hall of Fame have reshaped our culture and our communities. Resilient and innovative, these leaders and luminaries represent the best of the California spirit.”
The 2026 inductees include a diverse array of individuals who have made impactful contributions across various fields:
- John L. Burton, public servant and legislator
- Jamie Lee Curtis, actor
- Riane Eisler, pioneering systems scientist, cultural historian, and author
- Janet Evans, Olympian
- Carl Lewis, Olympian
- Mariachi Reyna de Los Ángeles, America’s first all-women mariachi ensemble
- Nobuyuki Matsuhisa, influential chef
- Terry McMillan, author
- Arnold Schwarzenegger, actor and governor
Since its inception in 2006, the California Hall of Fame has celebrated the achievements of over 170 members, honoring those who have significantly contributed to the state’s rich cultural heritage.
