Malibu Offers More Time for Public Feedback on Emergency Plans
Malibu Extends Deadline for Public Input on Emergency Evacuation Plan
Malibu officials have announced an extension to the public comment period regarding proposed revisions to the city’s emergency evacuation plan. Residents, workers, and visitors now have until the end of February to provide their feedback, an extension from the original deadline of January 30.
City officials emphasized the importance of community engagement in a recent social media post. "There’s still time to share your input and help shape the update to Malibu’s Evacuation Plan," they stated. "Whether you live, work, or visit Malibu, your feedback is essential to strengthening evacuation planning, routes, alerts, and transportation options, which is crucial for the community’s safety and the City’s emergency preparedness and response."
The last major update to Malibu’s emergency plans occurred in August 2020, and residents can review the existing plan on the city’s official website. This extension aims to ensure that community voices are heard in crucial safety strategies as they work towards improved emergency preparedness.
