Festival-goers attending the Rock the Country music festival this summer will not see Ludacris. The 8-location touring festival announced its lineup earlier this week, featuring a range of performers scheduled for shows between May and September.
Ludacris was initially included in the lineup with prominent artists like Nelly, Kid Rock, Jason Aldean, Blake Shelton, and Jelly Roll. However, he has since been removed from the festival’s official website without any formal announcement.

Rock the Country confirmed the change to Rolling Stone, clarifying that Ludacris’s name had been mistakenly included. A representative for the rapper stated that the initial inclusion was the result of a “mix-up.” “Lines got crossed and he wasn’t supposed to be on there,” the representative explained.
Following the initial announcement, numerous fans expressed their discontent on Ludacris’s Instagram page, voicing disappointment at his scheduled appearance alongside artists who align with conservative views. Comments included concerns about remaining on the “right side of history” and critiques regarding artists compromising their values for financial gain.
The festival will still showcase a diverse lineup, featuring performances from artists such as Creed, Brooks & Dunn, Miranda Lambert, and Jon Pardi, among others.
