While adjusting the order of songs for the The Tortured Poets Department segment, Swift is observed singing snippets from some tracks in her rehearsal space. After performing a portion of “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?”, she jokingly states, “I’m gonna have a mental breakdown during this song. It’s gonna be so fun.”
In a voiceover accompanying the episode, Swift expresses, “My goal for the Eras Tour is that I didn’t want the fans to leave thinking they missed out on anything. One thing I’ve always tried to do is give something to the fans that they didn’t expect.”
She reflects on how, during the first part of the tour, fans were unaware she was working on The Tortured Poets Department. “In the middle of releasing the album, we had to be all hands on deck creating a brand new ‘era’ to put into the show to represent that album,” Swift elaborated.
The End of an Era is a six-part docuseries that explores “the development, impact, and inner workings that created the phenomenon that was the Eras Tour,” according to a press release. It offers an intimate glimpse into Swift’s life as her tour captivated fans globally.
The first two episodes are now available on Disney+, with new episodes released weekly. Additionally, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour: The Final Show, a live recording of her concluding performance on the tour, which took place on December 8, 2024, at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver, Canada, is also currently available.
