JISOO, a member of the globally popular band BLACKPINK, is preparing for the release of her highly anticipated debut solo album. In a recent interview with V Magazine, published on May 6, she discussed her musical journey and the expectations surrounding her solo project.
Reflecting on her upcoming music, JISOO stated, “Since I’m preparing a full-length album this time, I’m working on showing a wider range of music.”
She expressed her hopes for the album, saying, “I think I’d be really happy if people listen to this album and say they discovered a new side of me.”
JISOO has previously released singles and the EP AMORTAGE but remains the only BLACKPINK member yet to launch a full solo album. Her bandmates LISA, JENNIE, and ROSÉ have each made their mark on the Billboard 200 in recent years with their respective albums: Alter Ego, Ruby, and Rosie. The group reunited in February to release the EP DEADLINE following their DEADLINE World Tour.
As anticipation builds for her solo debut, JISOO acknowledged the pressure inherent in such high expectations. She remarked, “Receiving so much attention and expectation can sometimes feel like pressure.”
Despite this, she aims to stay grounded, stating, “I try to focus on living each day fully” instead of worrying. “That’s my way of protecting myself,” she added. “It’s enough to simply be true to who I am.”
JISOO appears on the cover of V Magazine, an image that showcases her presence as she steps into the solo spotlight.
