Javier Bardem Challenges Amy Adams in the New ‘Cape Fear’ Trailer
New TV Series "Cape Fear" Set to Premiere
The highly anticipated series adaptation of Cape Fear will debut on Friday, June 5, with the release of its first two episodes. Subsequent episodes will air weekly, culminating on July 31.
Created by writer and executive producer Nick Antosca, this version of Cape Fear is described as a gripping psychological thriller, drawing inspiration from Alfred Hitchcock’s style. It delves into America’s contemporary fascination with true crime.
The narrative centers on Anna (Amy Adams) and Tom Bowden (Patrick Wilson), a seemingly happy married couple of attorneys whose lives are upended when Max Cady, the vengeful killer they once convicted, is released from prison.
Patrick Wilson stars alongside Joe Anders, Lily Collias, and Malia Pyles, supported by notable actors including CCH Pounder, Jamie Hector, and Anna Baryshnikov.

Produced by UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group, and Amblin Television, Cape Fear draws from the novel “The Executioners,” which inspired both the 1962 film starring Gregory Peck and the 1991 Scorsese remake.
The series boasts executive producers Steven Spielberg and Martin Scorsese, with Antosca serving as showrunner alongside Alex Hedlund for Eat The Cat. Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey also produce for Amblin Television, while Adams and Javier Bardem join as executive producers. Morten Tyldum directed the pilot episode and is credited as an executive producer. The show is developed under Antosca’s overall deal with UCP.
