ITV and Disney Strengthen Partnership with New Hulu Additions: ‘The Stolen Girl’ and ‘The Twisted Tale Of Amanda Knox’
ITV and Disney are enhancing their content-sharing partnership in the UK, following an initial streaming agreement that allowed a limited exchange of programming between their services.
As part of this expanded collaboration, two Hulu originals will soon be featured on the ITV1 broadcast network.
The first of these series, The Stolen Girl, premieres tomorrow. The drama, produced by Quay Street Productions and Brightstar, originally debuted on Disney+ in April of last year. Later this year, viewers can expect to see The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox also airing on ITV1.
The Stolen Girl follows a mother whose young daughter disappears after a sleepover, leading to a narrative filled with deception, family secrets, and betrayal.
The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox delves into the real-life murder case that captured international attention, focusing on themes of media scrutiny, justice, and public perception.
Both series will be branded as ‘Disney+ presents a Hulu Original’ on ITV, further enhancing the collaborative strategy between local networks and global content providers.
This move builds on a framework initiated last July, which saw Disney+ introduce a ‘Taste of ITVX’ section, while ITVX launched a ‘Taste of Disney+’ section, offering curated selections from one another’s libraries.
Karl Holmes, General Manager of Disney+ EMEA, remarked, “This marks an exciting next step in our collaboration with ITV. We’re thrilled that two of our most compelling original series will air on ITV’s powerful primetime platform, introducing millions more viewers to Hulu Originals on Disney+.”
Kevin Lygo, Managing Director of Media and Entertainment, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We are delighted to be deepening our relationship with Disney. Bringing these premium Original series into our primetime linear schedule is fantastic for ITV audiences. This extension perfectly complements our existing relationship and showcases the strength of the content-sharing model we established last summer.”
