The highly anticipated first trailer for Masters of the Universe has been unveiled.
On Thursday, January 22, Amazon MGM Studios shared the trailer showcasing Nicholas Galitzine as the legendary He-Man in a film directed by Travis Knight, inspired by the Mattel franchise.
The film’s synopsis reveals, “After being separated for 15 years, the Sword of Power leads Prince Adam back to Eternia, where he finds his home devastated under the tyrannical rule of Skeletor.” It further describes Adam’s journey as he teams up with his allies, Teela and Duncan/Man-At-Arms, to embrace his destiny as He-Man, “the most powerful man in the universe.”
Galitzine takes on the role of Prince Adam/He-Man, joined by Camila Mendes as Teela, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Idris Elba as Duncan/Man-At-Arms, and Morena Baccarin as the Sorceress of Castle Grayskull. The cast also features Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson as Malcolm/Fisto and Jared Leto as the villainous Skeletor. Kristin Wiig lends her voice to the character Roboto.

Galitzine, who announced his casting as He-Man in May 2024, takes over the role from Dolph Lundgren, who portrayed the character in a 1987 live-action film.
In a December interview, Galitzine reflected on the challenges of preparing for the role, describing his training as “the hardest thing I’ve ever done” and a “daily challenge.” He balanced this rigorous physical training while filming other projects, such as the romance 100 Nights of Hero. He stated, “There is something incredibly empowering about committing to something so heavily. I think it would be insincere for me to say that it was easy.”
Masters of the Universe will hit theaters on June 5.
