Hulu is Coming Out with a New Animated Action Comedy Series Called ‘The Kids From S.I.P.P.Y.’ by Branson Reese and Nicole Silverberg
Hulu has announced a new animated series titled The Kids from S.I.P.P.Y., produced by 20th Television Animation. The show follows three socially awkward high school freshmen who are recruited into an elite secret spy school. Executive producers include Steven Fisher and Trevor Engelson from Underground, alongside Patrick Newman of Mosaic and Tovah Silbermann.
This reveal comes at a dynamic time for Hulu’s animation lineup. The streaming service recently picked up Deano, a half-hour adult animated comedy from creators Dean Thomas and David Ferrier, and announced plans for Swap Meet, another half-hour animated comedy featuring comedian Ralph Barbosa, who will serve as executive producer alongside writer Isaac Gonzalez.
The Kids from S.I.P.P.Y. features writer and actor Reese, who is based in Los Angeles but originally hails from Washington, D.C. Reese is known for creating and starring in the FX cartoon Swan Boy, inspired by his cult comic. He lends his voice to Frank Lloyd Light in PBS Kids’ City Island and serves as supervising producer for the upcoming Netflix animated series Strip Law, also voicing multiple characters. His credits include writing for We Bare Bears and creating the D&D podcast Rude Tales of Magic, along with authoring the comic collection Hell Was Full.
