High School Softball: Playoff Matchups in the Southern Section
Southern Section Softball Playoffs Kick Off
The Southern Section softball playoffs are set to commence, with first-round matchups scheduled for Thursday and Friday afternoon. Games will begin at 3:15 p.m. unless otherwise noted.
Thursday’s Schedule
In Division 2, the first round features key games including Sierra Canyon visiting Bonita, Torrance at Ganesha, and Warren facing Thousand Oaks. Other notable matchups include St. Paul at Eastvale Roosevelt and Santa Ana Foothill taking on Mater Dei.
Division 4 showcases Rosary at St. Bonaventure and Harvard-Westlake at Lakewood, alongside a series of other competitive matchups.
Division 6 includes matches such as Rialto at Duarte and Hesperia at Alhambra, while Division 8 features teams like Public Safety Academy against ACE and Santa Clarita Christian facing Avalon.
Friday’s Schedule
Friday will see the continuation of first-round action, beginning with Division 1. Valley View will visit Murrieta Mesa, while Los Altos travels to La Habra. Other matches on the slate include Agoura against Etiwanda and Yucaipa at JSerra.
In Division 3, Rancho Cucamonga will play Paloma Valley, and El Segundo is set to meet Edison. Division 5 includes noteworthy matchups such as Leuzinger at Valencia and Anaheim taking on Norwalk.
Division 7 will feature Riverside Bethel Christian visiting Garey, while Windward challenges Artesia.
Upcoming Dates
The playoffs will progress with the second round scheduled for May 16, followed by the quarterfinals on May 20, semifinals on May 23, and finals taking place from May 28 to 30 at Bill Barber Memorial Park in Irvine.
