The punctuation in Harry Styles’ new album title holds considerable importance. The Grammy-winning artist unveiled the single “Aperture” on Thursday, January 22, marking the first glimpse into his eagerly anticipated album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally. During promotional interviews, Styles elaborated on the significance behind the title’s punctuation.
In a discussion with renowned musician John Mayer on SiriusXM, Mayer posed a question about the punctuation in the album title, asking, “Are you going to be very strict about the punctuation in the album title? Will you be upset if a period isn’t there? If a comma is missing?”
Styles emphasized the importance of the comma, stating, “It’s a very important comma. I think it’s, like, the comma is correct.” Mayer expressed his understanding, adding, “It becomes conversational. So, journalists everywhere, please, please be mindful of the punctuation.”
Further discussing the title in an interview with Hits Radio, Styles revealed his thoughts: “It’s like a life mantra, I guess,” he said, explaining that one “can’t” always be at the disco. “Loving and moving through your life with love and taking a break every now and then to have some fun, I think, is a really good way to approach your life,” he noted, reflecting on the positive changes he experienced over the past couple of years.
Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally. is slated for release on March 6, 2026.
