Grant Gustin, Campbell Scott, Rainey Qualley, and Elias Koteas Join Cast of Indie Film ‘God of Tides’
Exciting New Indie Film "God of Tides" Takes Shape
Indie film "God of Tides," inspired by the true story of world-class freediver and spear fisherman Virgil Price III, is set to star Grant Gustin, known for his role in "The Flash." Gustin will portray Virgil, navigating a personal transformation amid struggles with alcoholism and fractured family ties. Joining him are Campbell Scott, Rainey Qualley, and Elias Koteas in key roles.
Written by Maria Topete and Cruz Angeles, who also takes on the directorial role, "God of Tides" delves into the life of Virgil. Once a promising musician, he finds himself at a crossroads, seeking sanctuary in the ocean. However, as he immerses himself in freediving, he confronts not only the sport’s physical demands but also the deep-seated challenges of his psyche.
Scott will play Big Virgil, Virgil’s father, while Qualley will portray his sister, Ash. Koteas will take on the role of Walker, Virgil’s sobriety guide.
“The film explores themes of gratitude, acceptance, and the resilience of the human spirit,” Angeles stated. “It’s an absolute honor to be working with such an amazing cast to tell Virgil’s story.”
Produced by Virgil Price II of Sterling Productions, alongside Jamin O’Brien and Ged Dickersin, "God of Tides" promises to present a nuanced narrative.
