Glen Powell Shares His Thoughts on Nick Jonas Rocking His Unwashed Jeans: A Fun Take on ‘Brotherhood of the Traveling Pants’
Nick Jonas and Glen Powell have formed an unexpected bond that has taken many by surprise. During a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Jonas recounted an amusing backstage incident that exemplifies their friendship.
In a video shared on Instagram on February 5, the 33-year-old Jonas revealed, “I’m here at Jimmy Fallon, just performed ‘Gut Punch,’ but before the performance I was changing into my outfit. A lot of times, a brand will lend you something for a big TV performance or something like that.” He then went on to explain how he discovered an expired plane ticket in the back pocket of a borrowed pair of jeans.
“I’m, like, ‘Who could this plane ticket belong to?’ I open it up, and of course it belongs to Glen Powell of all people,” Jonas continued, emphasizing the humorous coincidence. He jokingly dubbed it “the brotherhood of the traveling pants.”
In response to Jonas’ revelation, Powell, 37, commented on social media, expressing his surprise about the state of the jeans: “They didn’t wash these for you?!? I feel like the Brotherhood of the Traveling Pants should incorporate some sort of hygiene pact.”
The friendship between Jonas and Powell dates back to 2015 when they co-starred in Ryan Murphy‘s Scream Queens. Reflecting on their time on set, Powell described the experience fondly in a March 2016 interview. “I love Ryan and Brad [Falchuk]. They’re just hilarious,” he said. “The beauty of that character is he’s not really a character that fits into the plot necessarily. He’s just a guy who’s there to make you laugh.”

Jonas and Powell’s camaraderie seems to have evolved since their early days on Scream Queens. While Jonas focused on his music career, including the recent release of his album Sunday Best, Powell remained active in television and film. “It was, kind of, just snapshots of life,” Jonas said about his new album during an appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers. He mentioned how his upbringing as the son of a pastor influenced the sound of his music, noting that elements of gospel and soul are prominently featured.
As their careers continue to flourish, the light-hearted connection between Jonas and Powell stands as a testament to the friendships forged in the industry, often marked by unexpected moments and humor.
