Get Ready: National Football Foundation All-Star Game is Happening on December 20
Simi Valley to Host High School All-Star Football Games
Simi Valley High School will serve as the venue for exciting high school all-star football games on December 20, organized by local coach Jim Benkert. The event features two matches: a flag football game at 4 p.m. between players from the San Gabriel Chapter and the Coastal Valley Chapter, followed by an 11-man game at 7 p.m. showcasing Ventura County against Los Angeles County.
Dustin Croick of Agoura will coach the West team, which includes standout quarterback Gavin Gray. The East team, directed by Thomas Randolph from Taft, will feature a talented group of quarterbacks, including Michael Wynn Jr. of St. Genevieve.
Tickets for the event are priced at $10, contributing to the rising costs associated with hosting all-star games, such as uniforms and insurance. Benkert, noted as one of California’s winningest coaches with over 300 victories, emphasized his commitment to the event.
“We’re trying to keep all-star games alive,” he stated. “If we don’t do it, there’s nothing.”
This initiative highlights the ongoing positive developments within high school sports, providing an opportunity for talented young athletes to showcase their skills.
