FX Picks Up Elizabeth Olsen’s Drama Series ‘Seven Sisters’
FX Orders Series for ‘Seven Sisters’ Drama Pilot
FX has officially ordered a series for the highly anticipated drama pilot, Seven Sisters, featuring an impressive cast led by Elizabeth Olsen, Cristin Milioti, and J. Smith-Cameron. The project, created by writer Will Arbery and directed by Sean Durkin, also stars Odessa Young, Zoë Winters, Meredith Hagner, Ryan Eggold, Anthony Edwards, Bridget Brown, Carolyn Kettig, and Philip Ettinger.
Set within a large, close-knit family, Seven Sisters delves into the unraveling dynamics that ensue when one sister, Adrienne (portrayed by Olsen), begins to communicate with a mysterious voice that others cannot hear, compelling the family to confront deep-seated secrets.
In the series, Olsen, Milioti, Hagner, Young, Winters, Brown, and Kettig portray the titular sisters, while Ettinger takes on the role of their brother. Edwards and Smith-Cameron play the parents of this eight-member clan, with Eggold portraying Adrienne’s husband.
Seven Sisters is executive produced by Arbery, who penned the pilot, alongside director Durkin and producer Garrett Basch. This collaboration marks a reunion for Olsen and Durkin, who previously worked together on the acclaimed film Martha Marcy May Marlene, which was Durkin’s directorial debut.
This series represents Basch’s fifth project with FX, following successful titles such as Devs, Reservation Dogs, What We Do in the Shadows, and The Lowdown. Additionally, he is executive producing FX’s upcoming comedy pilot, Very Young Frankenstein.
“We’ve been on the lookout for a compelling family drama, and when Will Arbery and Garrett Basch brought us Seven Sisters, we found one that felt uniquely FX,” stated Gina Balian, President of FX Entertainment. “It lives in the deep relatable dynamics of adult siblings and their parents but does so in a way that’s bold and original with an unexpected twist. This group of incredibly gifted actors brings this family’s secrets to life in a way that will draw audiences in and keep them guessing until the very end.”
Seven Sisters was one of two drama pilots greenlit by FX in March, alongside a Snowfall spinoff featuring original series actors Gail Bean and Isaiah John, which was also picked up to series last month.
