Friends and Colleagues Share Heartfelt Tributes to Eric Dane Following His Passing
Hollywood is in mourning following the death of actor Eric Dane, who passed away on Thursday at the age of 53 after a battle with ALS. His family confirmed the news, expressing sorrow while highlighting Dane’s courageous fight against the disease.
His co-stars remembered him fondly, with many sharing their grief and reflecting on his vibrant personality. Alyssa Milano, who acted alongside him in the series Charmed, recalled, “I can’t stop seeing that spark in Eric’s eye right before he’d say something that would either make you spit out your drink or rethink your entire perspective. He had a razor-sharp sense of humor… The spark. The mischief.”
Sharing a nostalgic clip on her Instagram Story, Selma Blair expressed her love for Dane, while Milano also recounted personal memories, including how he inspired her to embrace a pixie cut and the moment they rescued her dog Lucy together. “My heart is with the people who were lucky enough to be his home,” she wrote.
Paul Walter Hauser, who co-starred with Dane in Americana (2023), also shared a heartfelt tribute, reflecting on their time together and expressing his feelings of loss. He emphasized Dane’s impact on those around him, stating, “I love you, man. I wish we had more time.”
Tributes poured in from across the industry, including a statement from Euphoria creator Sam Levinson, who said, “Working with him was an honor. Being his friend was a gift.” Martin Lawrence, his co-star in Bad Boys: Ride or Die, fondly remembered Dane as a “solid brotha” and a true professional. Ashton Kutcher humorously noted the impact of Dane’s absence on their fantasy football league, stating, “Miss you, buddy. Let’s keep fighting the fight to solve ALS.”
Dane’s battle with ALS was publicly revealed last April. His family remarked, “With heavy hearts, we share that Eric Dane passed on Thursday afternoon following a courageous battle with ALS… He spent his final days surrounded by dear friends, his devoted wife, and his two beautiful daughters, Billie and Georgia, who were the center of his world.”
They also noted his advocacy for ALS awareness, stressing his desire to make a difference for others fighting similar battles. “Eric adored his fans and is forever grateful for the outpouring of love and support he’s received,” they added, requesting privacy as they navigate this difficult time.
