Los Angeles, CA — High school baseball and softball teams across Los Angeles showcased their talents yesterday, with several standout performances across both leagues.
In the City Section of baseball, Amit dominated Panorama with a score of 14 to 1. Other notable scores included Arleta defeating Grant, 10 to 3, and Birmingham edging out El Camino Real, 9 to 1. Hollywood had an impressive showing, beating Contreras 21 to 10, while San Pedro triumphed over Gardena with a resounding 21 to 3 victory.
In the Southern Section, the teams had their share of exciting matches. Hemet overwhelmed Vista del Lago, winning 19 to 0. Meanwhile, Mary Star of the Sea recorded a staggering 29 to 1 win against Verbum Dei. Another standout matchup was Newport Harbor defeating Capistrano Valley Christian, 19 to 2.
Softball scores from the City Section saw Animo Venice take down Middle College, 8 to 3, with Birmingham securing a 2 to 0 victory over Chatsworth. El Camino Real delivered a commanding performance against Cleveland, winning 11 to 0. Jefferson had a remarkable game, defeating Los Angeles 27 to 4, while Fairfax scored a whopping 32 points against Canoga Park, winning 32 to 15.
In the Southern Section for softball, Fullerton achieved a dominating victory over Placentia Valencia, winning 26 to 0. Hemet similarly overwhelmed Moreno Valley with a score of 27 to 0.
