High School Baseball and Softball Highlights
In a series of exciting high school baseball and softball games, teams across various sections showcased their skills and determination.
Baseball Results
In the City Section, Animo Venice edged out Animo Robinson with a score of 9-7, while CALS Early College narrowly defeated East College Prep 9-6. Smidt Tech delivered a dominant performance against Alliance Ouchi, winning 16-7.
In the Southern Section, a number of teams also made headlines. Aquinas defeated Linfield Christian 2-0, and Alhambra overwhelmed Mark Keppel with a significant 15-1 victory. Arlington came out on top against Riverside Poly, winning 7-2. Other noteworthy games included Banning’s shutout against Desert Hot Springs (10-0) and Bishop Amat’s close win over La Salle, ending at 9-8.
Canyon Springs achieved a remarkable 20-4 victory over Riverside North, while Capistrano Valley Christian triumphed over Webb, 20-8. The day’s action also saw impressive performances from teams such as El Dorado, which defeated La Habra 8-2, and La Canada, who narrowly beat San Marino 3-2.
Softball Results
Softball games in the Southern Section featured several high-scoring contests. ACE dominated Lucerne Valley 17-3, and Anaheim showcased their talent with a 22-4 win over Loara. Anza Hamilton also delivered a strong performance, winning 21-4 against Sherman Indian.
Apple Valley made headlines with a staggering 25-1 victory over Ridgecrest Burroughs. Cerritos claimed an 11-0 victory over Pioneer, while Charter Oak overwhelmed West Covina, winning 18-0. In a closely contested match, Hillcrest secured a narrow 2-1 win against Paloma Valley.
Other notable results included JSerra’s triumph over Mater Dei, 2-0, and Oxnard Pacifica’s tight 5-4 win against San Marcos. Santa Ana defeated Laguna Hills 8-3, demonstrating their potential as the season progresses.
