Mendes, known for directing 1917, first announced the four interconnected films in February 2024. The project marks a significant milestone, as The Beatles and Apple Corps Ltd. have granted unprecedented rights for their stories and music to be depicted in a feature film.
“I’m honored to be telling the story of the greatest rock band of all time, and excited to challenge the notion of what constitutes a trip to the movies,” Mendes stated at the time.
The four films will incorporate each band member’s unique perspective to narrate the extensive career of The Beatles, who produced over 12 studio albums and left a lasting impact on pop culture from 1960 to 1970.

James Norton will take on the role of the group’s manager, Brian Epstein, while Harry Lloyd will portray their producer, George Martin, as reported in December.
All four films are scheduled for theatrical release in April 2028.
