FBI Conducts Searches in Lancaster as Part of Sealed Investigation
LANCASTER, Calif. – The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) initiated a series of search operations on Wednesday morning, targeting City Hall and the residences of prominent local officials in Lancaster.
Federal authorities confirmed that these searches were authorized by court-approved warrants, although they refrained from disclosing details regarding the investigation due to sealed affidavits.
The FBI’s Los Angeles field office reported that agents carried out multiple warrant services in the area early on Wednesday. FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller indicated that the bureau is unable to comment on specific allegations as the affidavits remain sealed.
Agents were observed entering an office at City Hall, while attorneys retained by the city began assessing the federal requests.
At this time, the precise nature of the suspected criminal activity has not been made public. Additionally, it remains unclear whether any arrests are forthcoming or if other members of the city council are under investigation.
