Exciting New Additions to ‘The Night Agent’ Season 4: Meet the Cast of Peter Sutherland’s Partner, Nemesis, and Ex-Fiancée
Exclusive: Major Cast Additions for Fourth Season of The Night Agent
The Netflix action thriller The Night Agent is set to welcome several high-profile cast members for its upcoming fourth season. Notable additions include Titus Welliver, known for his role in Bosch; Trevante Rhodes, recognized for his performance in Moonlight; Li Jun Li of Sinners fame; and Elizabeth Lail, who gained attention in You. They will form the new series regular lineup alongside lead actor Gabriel Basso.
While specifics about their characters remain undisclosed, sources indicate that Welliver will portray Duval, a special DOJ prosecutor, while Rhodes is expected to play Dom, the new partner of Basso’s character, Peter Sutherland. Li is believed to be portraying Dom’s wife, Min, and Lail will take on the role of Zoe, Peter’s ex-fiancée, a character fans have long anticipated.
In earlier seasons, Peter committed to his position as a Night Agent, distancing himself from romantic entanglements to protect Rose Larkin, his love interest during Seasons 1 and 2. The reintroduction of Zoe may complicate his resolve, as her presence in his life signals a potential emotional reconnection. This past reference is highlighted by a moment when he gave some of her belongings to Rose in Season 1.
At the conclusion of Season 3, Peter’s boss, Deputy Director Mosley, informed him that he would be receiving a new partner, a character yet to be revealed. Showrunner Shawn Ryan noted that this dynamic would be crucial as Peter struggles to find balance in his life.
Dom’s role may serve as a guiding influence for Peter, who could learn that a Night Agent can maintain a personal life and family. Ryan emphasized the significant narrative arc in Season 4 regarding varying perspectives on the mission, suggesting that Duval’s character might view the Night Agent program as an extrajudicial operation with questionable motivations.
Currently, Basso remains the only cast member confirmed to return from Season 3, although Ryan teased the possibility of more familiar faces appearing in the new season. The latest casting announcements follow the addition of Stephen Moyer, Jennifer Morrison, David Lyons, and Ward Horton as series regulars for Season 3.
Discussing the talent acquisition for the show, Ryan remarked, “For a show like ours, it was a little bit of a buyer’s market… I feel good as a show that we’re able to assemble that level of talent.”
Welliver, widely recognized as LAPD Detective Harry Bosch in the Amazon series, recently appeared in the Sundance Film Festival indie film Ricky and had a recurring role on AMC’s Dark Winds. He is also set to star in the MGM+ series The Westies.
Rhodes, awarded a Film Independent Spirit Award for Moonlight, has also portrayed Mike Tyson in Hulu’s miniseries Mike and participated in several notable films, including Bird Box and The Predator.
Li has recently featured in HBO’s The Last Of Us and will star alongside Nicolas Cage in Prime Video’s Spider-Noir.
Lail is recognized for her roles in Blumhouse’s Five Nights at Freddy’s and the Netflix series You, in addition to her appearances in NBC’s Ordinary Joe and the HBO Max reboot of Gossip Girl.
With a revamped cast and evolving storylines, The Night Agent is poised to engage its audience in its forthcoming season.
