In a series of photos, Gillies can be seen wearing a combination of casual attire, including a white tank top paired with a black bra and blue jeans, as well as a gray t-shirt and a black flared skirt complemented by motorcycle gloves. This latest editorial reflects a shift in her style, embracing a cool, 80s/90s-inspired look.
The Bare Magazine’s Instagram post describes the photoshoot as a “no words series,” emphasizing Gillies’s transformation from her previous long natural curls to her new pixie cut, inviting fans to explore her updated persona.
Last spring, Gillies discussed her performance in an Off-Broadway production of Little Shop of Horrors, where she played the character Audrey. Reflecting on her role, she noted, "This has been my favorite musical since I saw the Broadway production when I was a kid. I grew up singing and knowing every line in the show. I always hoped and prayed I’d get the opportunity to play Audrey and I’m so glad it ended up happening with this production."
Gillies expressed gratitude for the creative freedom she experienced during rehearsals, stating, "I came in with all of these ideas about how I felt I needed to play her…and this creative team really encouraged me to throw all of that out the window and start from scratch with her." She further emphasized that her portrayal was rooted in honesty, saying, "I play her in a way that feels very honest and truthful to me and I’m thankful that they gave me the freedom to do so."
Gillies’s striking new look and her recent artistic endeavors continue to affirm her status as a versatile figure in the entertainment industry.
