Desmond Harrington Joins the Cast as a Series Regular for Season 2 of Dexter: Resurrection as Filming Starts
Production has officially commenced on the second season of Showtime’s Dexter: Resurrection in New York City, promising an exciting return for fans of the series.
Desmond Harrington, who portrayed Joey Quinn in the original series and appeared in two episodes of Resurrection Season 1, has been promoted to a series regular for the upcoming season. This development raises questions about his character’s trajectory, especially given the fate of Angel Batista, played by David Zayas, during his return to the franchise. Quinn’s previous suspicions regarding Dexter Morgan’s (Michael C. Hall) activities may lead him to investigate his friend’s tragic circumstances further.
The logline for Season 2 has also been released: Dexter: Resurrection finds Dexter Morgan navigating between two killers, one infamous and another posing an unexpected threat to New York. Amidst this chaos, Dexter confronts his most formidable adversary yet—a mid-life crisis—while his son Harrison (Jack Alcott) seeks justice as they face their darkest chapter together.
Alongside Hall, prominent cast members returning include Uma Thurman as Charley, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine as Blessing Kamara, Kadia Sarif as Detective Claudette Wallace, Dominic Fumusa as Detective Melvin Oliva, and James Remar as Dexter’s father, Harry Morgan.
Additionally, Dan Stevens has been cast as the second major antagonist of Season 2, portraying Owen Stark, a serial killer reminiscent of the Zodiac, who terrorizes the city with alarming phone calls and heinous threats against innocent lives.
Bokeem Woodbine and Nona Parker Johnson will also join the cast as series regulars.
In an Instagram video celebrating the start of production, Hall hinted at an exhilarating season ahead, alongside Remar, who cautioned fans to “follow the code.”
Marcos Siega, an executive producer, is set to direct Episode 201, as announced on his Instagram on April 13.
From Paramount Television Studios and Counterpart Studios, Dexter: Resurrection is produced by Clyde Phillips, who serves as showrunner, along with Hall, Scott Reynolds, Siega, Tony Hernandez, and Lilly Burns. Additional executive producers include John Goldwyn, Sara Colleton, Veronica West, Kirsa Rein, Tanner Bean, and Katrina Mathewson.
