Sam Asghari Expresses Support for Britney Spears’ Healing Journey After Her Treatment Stay
Britney Spears is receiving support from her ex-husband Sam Asghari as she seeks treatment in a facility following her arrest on suspicion of DUI.
On April 22, TMZ approached Asghari while he was entering Mic Drop in West Hollywood. When asked about Spears’ decision to enter a treatment center, he expressed his approval, saying, “I think it’s great.”
Asghari emphasized the importance of healing, stating, “Anything that has anything to do with healing and great things, as long as the person is in charge of that, it’s all great.” He mentioned that he has not communicated with Spears recently.
On April 12, Spears’ representative confirmed to Billboard that the pop star had voluntarily checked into a treatment facility but did not provide specific details. This decision comes after her arrest in Ventura County, California, on March 4 for a suspected DUI; she was booked and released the following morning.
Following the arrest, Spears’ rep described the incident as “unfortunate” and “inexcusable.” They added, “Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law, and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life.” The statement underscored the hope that Spears would receive the necessary help during this challenging period.
Spears and Asghari were married in 2022 after meeting on the set of her “Slumber Party” music video. However, they separated a year later, and their divorce was finalized in December 2024.
In a previous interview with Fox News, Asghari remarked, “When it comes to people making mistakes, I understand that, but I think everybody deserves privacy.” He expressed hope that the media would respect Spears’ need for privacy during this time. As of now, Spears has not publicly commented on her arrest or her ongoing treatment.
