Denise Richards Remembers Her Closest Friend Patrick Muldoon: “I’m Heartbroken and Grieving Your Loss”
Denise Richards is expressing profound grief following the death of her best friend, Patrick Muldoon, whom she honored in a heartfelt social media tribute.
Muldoon passed away on Sunday, April 19, at the age of 57 due to a heart attack. In the days following his death, Richards has shared her memories and sorrow for the late actor.
“This is so hard for me to put into words. I am deeply heartbroken & devastated losing you. You were my best friend & my family,” Richards posted on Instagram. “We met in our first acting class. I was 19, never had an acting job, and you were 21, a student at USC doing a recurring role on Who’s the Boss.
“Thirty-six years later, my whole adult life, I don’t know it without you. The friendship, love, support, respect & loyalty we had was unconditional and rare. You lit up every room you walked into. You are larger than life and everyone was drawn to you. So talented & the most underrated actor. And most humble. Everything you did was infectious. Your laugh, your kindness, your wit, your strength, your loyalty, your passion, and your zest for life. We’ve been each other’s rock. Our memories together are endless.”
Richards acknowledged Muldoon’s unwavering support, stating he had her back more than anyone else. “I don’t know what I’m going to do without you here. You’re my voice of reason & pillar of strength,” she said, reflecting on their shared challenges, especially over the past year. “And now I need you more than ever, for this pain and heartache losing you.”
The former star of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills recalled conversations they shared about mortality, noting they both believed they would “live forever or at least into our 90s.”
“Schweetbabe, I will be looking for those signs,” she said, expressing her need to feel his presence. “I love you so much & miss you dearly, schweetbabe.”
