David Mamet’s ‘Speed The Plow’ Is One of the First Films to Feature an AI-Driven Production System at Cannes
EXCLUSIVE: Alan Pao, the independent producer known for his work on Andrew Garfield’s film Under The Silver Lake, has unveiled an AI-powered production platform during the Cannes Film Festival.
The platform, named New Hollywood, is designed to streamline the processes of developing, producing, and post-producing film projects, while also facilitating connections with potential investors.
At Cannes, Pao is set to present the platform to a select audience of buyers, producers, and financiers. New Hollywood aims to enhance script development by generating pitch decks, animatics, and teasers. The platform can create production breakdowns and schedules, enable actors to self-tape, and automatically compile a cut for each scene filmed in a day. Additionally, it generates trailers and sales reels, linking projects directly with production companies in search of fresh material.
“Independent filmmaking has always been driven by artists, but the process around it has become increasingly fragmented and opaque,” Pao stated, noting that New Hollywood seeks to address these challenges. “This platform was built to cut through that complexity while giving creators, producers, and financiers a more connected, transparent way to move projects forward, while democratizing the process for new and emerging filmmakers.”
