FX Announces Premiere Date for ‘Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette’
FX and Hulu Set Premiere Date for Ryan Murphy’s ‘Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette’
FX and Hulu have announced that the much-anticipated limited series, Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette, will debut with three episodes on February 12 at 9 PM ET. Internationally, the series will be available on Disney+, with new episodes of the nine-part anthology releasing weekly on Thursdays thereafter.
The inaugural installment of Ryan Murphy’s Love Story anthology is inspired by Elizabeth Beller’s book, Once Upon a Time: The Captivating Life of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy.
This historical drama chronicles the lives and romance of John F. Kennedy Jr., played by Paul Anthony Kelly, and Carolyn Bessette, portrayed by Sarah Pidgeon. Kennedy Jr. was often viewed as American royalty, capturing public interest as he transitioned from a boy to a celebrated bachelor and media figure. Bessette carved out her own notable path, advancing from a sales assistant to an executive role at Calvin Klein, where she became a close ally of founder Calvin Klein.
The connection between John and Carolyn was described as electric and undeniable. However, their love story, which unfolded before the eyes of the nation, faced challenges amid overwhelming fame and intense media scrutiny. The series features an ensemble cast that includes Grace Gummer as Caroline Kennedy, Naomi Watts as Jackie Kennedy Onassis, Alessandro Nivola as Calvin Klein, Leila George as Kelly Klein, Sydney Lemmon as Lauren Bessette, and Constance Zimmer as Ann Marie Messina. Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette explores the deeply complex and poignant journey of a couple whose private relationship became a public fascination.
The series is created by Connor Hines and boasts an executive production team that includes Ryan Murphy, Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, Eric Kovtun, Nissa Diederich, Scott Robertson, Monica Levinson, Kim Rosenstock, D.V. DeVincentis, and Tanase Popa. Max Winkler, who also directed the pilot episode, is among the executive producers, with the project produced by 20th Television.
