Daniel Stern’s Prostitution Case Dismissed: What You Need to Know
Daniel Stern Cleared of Misdemeanor Prostitution Solicitation Charge
Actor Daniel Stern, renowned for his role in Home Alone, has had a misdemeanor prostitution solicitation charge dismissed, according to court records from Ventura, California. The dismissal occurred on Friday, marking a significant turn in Stern’s legal situation.
The charge stemmed from a citation issued on December 10, 2025, following a police sting operation at a Camarillo hotel. Stern was not arrested at the time but faced a misdemeanor charge of engaging in prostitution last month. Had he been convicted, Stern could have faced up to six months in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.
A representative from the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office stated, “The defendant did what he was supposed to do. He completed his education class and earned a dismissal. This is our standard disposition for first-time prostitution offenses.”
Shortly after the charge, Stern withdrew from his role in the upcoming ABC pilot Do You Want Kids?, which has since been recast. The series features actors Rachel Bloom and Rory Scovel, portraying a couple whose life significantly changes based on whether they have a child in one universe.
In Do You Want Kids?, Stern was cast as Freddy, the gruff head of the Zilbalodis family.
Stern, who famously played Marv in Home Alone and its sequels, is also noted for his performances in City Slickers and as a series regular in Apple TV’s sci-fi show For All Mankind.
As of now, representatives for Stern have not provided a statement regarding the dismissal of the charge.
