Daniel Stern of ‘Home Alone’ Involved in Solicitation Incident in Camarillo
Actor Daniel Stern Issued Citation for Soliciting Prostitute in Ventura County
VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. – Daniel Stern, renowned for his portrayal of Marv Murchins in the "Home Alone" films, has received a citation for allegedly soliciting a prostitute at a hotel in Camarillo, California. TMZ reports that the citation was issued on December 10, 2025.
The 68-year-old actor was not arrested; however, this misdemeanor charge could result in penalties of up to six months in jail or a $1,000 fine if convicted.
Stern has yet to publicly address the citation. His recent hospitalization in October for an undisclosed medical emergency further adds to the uncertainty surrounding his current public engagements.
In a Christmas Eve interview with People, Stern had discussed a creative project involving the owners of the "Home Alone" house, who commissioned him to create a bronze sculpture. “I got a call from the people who own the ‘Home Alone’ house. And I’m a sculptor. They asked if I would do a sculpture for the house,” Stern revealed. He mentioned that the piece would depict himself alongside the iconic tarantula, a nod to one of the film’s memorable scenes.
Stern first gained widespread recognition in 1990 as part of the "Wet Bandits" duo alongside Joe Pesci, reprising his role in the sequel, "Home Alone 2: Lost in New York," where they rebranded themselves as the "Sticky Bandits." In recent years, the actor has shifted focus from Hollywood to a more private life on his ranch in Ventura, dedicating time to his sculpting career.
The implications of Stern’s citation remain to be seen, particularly regarding its potential impact on his upcoming commitments and the sculpture for the "Home Alone" house.
