Community Gathers to Remember 30-Year-Old CHP Officer Lost in Motorcycle Accident
CHP Officer Eric Voss Dies in Off-Duty Motorcycle Crash
A somber procession will take place Thursday to honor California Highway Patrol Officer Eric Voss, who died in a motorcycle crash over the weekend. The 30-year-old officer lost his life on Saturday while riding his personal motorcycle, after serving with the CHP for more than five years.
Voss was also a registered organ, eye, and tissue donor, leaving behind a legacy of service even in his untimely passing. The procession is scheduled for 9 a.m. and will start at the OneLegacy Azusa Transplant and Recovery Center in Azusa.
During this difficult time, the CHP community is expressing their sorrow. In a statement, CHP Commissioner Sean Duryee remarked, “Our CHP family mourns the loss of Officer Eric Voss, who was killed in an off-duty motorcycle crash. Eric served the people of CA for over 5 years, and in his final act of service, donated his organs to give the gift of life. We extend our condolences as we honor his legacy.”
