LAPD Investigates Series of Burglaries Targeting Luxury Homes in San Fernando Valley
LOS ANGELES – A series of burglaries targeting multi-million dollar residences in the San Fernando Valley has prompted an investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department. The incidents involve forced entries at several properties, all occurring within a short timeframe.
The investigation centers on a spate of thefts that took place between April 11 and April 15, with some homes affected just 15 minutes apart. During these break-ins, suspects managed to steal approximately $88,000 in luxury items before fleeing the scenes.
The most recent burglary occurred late Wednesday night at a residence in the 6800 block of Vanscoy Avenue in Valley Glen. Officers responded around 9:30 p.m. but discovered the suspects had already escaped after breaking a rear glass door to enter the property.
On April 11, a more violent incident unfolded in Hollywood Hills. Homeowners on Macapa Drive returned to discover intruders inside their home, leading to a physical confrontation. The suspects escaped with high-value watches and cash, totaling around $88,000.
In a related case, a home in Sherman Oaks on Davana Terrace was burglarized on consecutive nights, highlighting the ongoing threat to these affluent neighborhoods.
As the investigation continues, police have not provided detailed descriptions of the suspects involved. It remains unclear whether the burglaries are linked to a single organized group or are the work of separate opportunists. Moreover, specifics regarding the items stolen from the Vanscoy Avenue property have yet to be clarified.
Timeline of Notable Incidents:
- April 11, 9:30 p.m.: Burglary and physical altercation on Macapa Drive, Hollywood Hills.
- April 11 & 12: Two back-to-back burglaries at a residence on Davana Terrace, Sherman Oaks.
- April 14, 9:00 p.m.: Break-in on Hesby Street in Valley Village involving multiple suspects.
- April 14, 9:15 p.m.: High-value theft on Hatteras Street in Valley Glen.

In light of these events, residents in high-value areas are advised to enhance security measures, as many suspects gained entry by shattering rear doors or windows. Implementing standard security protocols, like bullet-resistant glass and motion-activated lighting, may help deter potential break-ins.
