Brett Eldredge is embracing the life he has always envisioned.
"I got exactly what I asked for," Eldredge shared during a recent walk in Chicago, ahead of a performance for his Glow Live Tour. "I’m doing the things that I really want to do and still making the music I really want to make."
His remarkable journey has not unfolded by chance. Eldredge attributes this contentment to a series of deliberate choices made in recent years, including reducing his social media presence, safeguarding his personal life, and removing distracting apps from his phone. "I have apps that block my social media on my phone," he explained. "I have figured out a much healthier balance with all of it."
The singer-songwriter underscored his intent to maintain personal boundaries while pursuing professional growth. “It’s been really cool to step back from the expectations of industry and decide what I want my story to look like moving forward," Eldredge, 39, stated. "I made some big changes in my life and have found a really good balance and still do what I love."
“It’s just been beautiful to really explore that,” he added with a laugh.

Artistic success in today’s climate—marked by viral trends and fleeting moments—poses its own challenges. "There’s never a perfect route of doing things," Eldredge acknowledged. He seeks to share "stuff that really matters to me" when "the time feels right."
His holiday performances, swiftly becoming cherished traditions for many fans, occupy a special place in his heart. "I step out there on stage and I feel that energy and there is nothing like it,” said Eldredge, who has affectionately been dubbed "Mr. Christmas" thanks to his increasingly popular annual tour. "I want to make it an extremely special moment for everyone there."

Despite battling onstage anxiety, Eldredge remains committed to his holiday shows. "I don’t want to stop doing it because it’s a challenge; the challenge makes it beautiful too," he reflected. Aldredge released his eighth studio album and third holiday album, Merry Christmas (Welcome to the Family), last year. "I feel like I was born to do it when I am up there. It’s an important thing for me."
For Eldredge, performing is not just a duty but a vital form of expression. "I really do think it’s important for my soul to be a voice for other people," he stated. His 2023 Glow Live Tour will wrap up in Boston on December 19 and 20. "I’m just a guy up there that gets to sing and tell stories, hopefully making connections with others."
