Billie Eilish Clears Up Rumors About Her Relationship with Brother Finneas

In a recent interview with Elle, Billie Eilish addressed rumors of a rift with her brother and collaborator, Finneas, dismissing claims of sibling rivalry. The speculation arose during Eilish’s Hit Me Hard and Soft Tour, her first tour without Finneas accompanying her.
Eilish clarified that Finneas’s absence was a mutual decision, not a result of a feud. “Finneas and I have never and will never have a falling-out, ever in our lives,” she stated. “There’s nothing else in the world like sibling relationships.”
The singer elaborated on the decision, explaining, “We got so busy that we would only see each other right before going on stage.” Eilish noted that Finneas, along with her drummer Andrew, was in a routine that made it difficult for them to break away. “Finneas was stuck in a tower — like Rapunzel! He never said it, but I was feeling like, ‘You have more to be doing than being my band member in the back.’”
While the siblings reached this conclusion together, Eilish still felt the impact of Finneas’s absence. In her upcoming concert film, Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D), she becomes emotional over a good-luck note from her brother. Finneas has also made appearances at several tour dates to support her, even joining her on stage for performances.
“I love being around Billie,” Finneas shared with Elle. “This past year, when she would be on tour for months, I missed her a lot.”
Beyond her relationship with Finneas, Eilish discussed her personal style, sharing insights on how hip-hop legends influenced her aesthetic and her struggle with body image. “I had a really, really toxic relationship with my body,” she admitted. “I had a lot of eating issues. I remember putting on, like, a big shirt and the relief that I felt.”
Eilish linked this relief to her love for hip-hop and her grappling with internalized misogyny. “This is the misogyny that we all have within us … which is that I didn’t want to be seen as feminine, and therefore weak,” she explained. “It’s not right.”
Her concert film, co-directed with James Cameron, will hit theaters on May 8.
