Bella Thorne Shares Why She and Fiancé Mark Emms Are Still Waiting to Set a Wedding Date After 2 Years of Engagement

Bella Thorne Discusses Wedding Planning with Mark Emms
Bella Thorne recently shared insights into her wedding planning process, revealing that she has yet to set a date for her upcoming nuptials. The singer-actress became engaged to Mark Emms in May 2023, and notably proposed to him herself in August 2025.
At The Hollywood Reporter’s Annual Women in Entertainment Gala on December 3, Thorne mentioned, "I do not have a date yet," indicating the couple is still in the early stages of planning.

The 28-year-old actress further explained that wedding preparations will likely commence after she and Emms complete their current filming commitments. Thorne is finishing up her project, Color Your Hurt, and is set to work on a sequel to Spring Breakers next.
"I just directed a movie that I wrote, and so that is currently our baby, our child," Thorne stated. She added, "And I think once we’re done with that, and the next project that we have Spring Breakers, then we can plan."
Thorne also expressed her desire for everything to align perfectly. "Yeah. I feel like everything has to be perfect at the same time. If a bunch of sh– goes wrong, I’m like, ‘Eh, as long as you’re happy.’"
Earlier this year, Emms proposed to Thorne at her home in California on May 13, presenting her with a "10-plus-carat emerald-cut diamond ring with baguettes flanking the center stone," as reported by Vogue. The engagement was celebrated with family.
In her first engagement announcement, Thorne shared her vision of a countryside wedding at a manor in the U.K., where Emms is from. She expressed interest in vintage designs by Schiaparelli or Dior for her wedding attire, declaring, "Every bride does not need one gown, but four!"

In a recent interview, Thorne reflected on the growth of their relationship since becoming engaged, stating that their bond has only "heightened" and they are "drawing closer" each day. “It’s really like, ‘Oh wow, we’re really your my partner. Let’s do this together,’” she noted, emphasizing the ongoing solidification of their partnership.
