Ashland Craft has found a new duet partner in Chase Rice. Despite Rice’s recent announcement of a hiatus from touring, he has collaborated with Craft, a former contestant on *The Voice*, on this new version of her song.
Craft expressed enthusiasm about working with Rice, stating, “I had toured with Chase quite a few times before this project came about, but never truly had a chance to learn about his backstory and all the things that led him to music.”
She continued, “It was really fun to get to sit down and swap stories about family, old friends, school and everything in between, and I’m so excited for everyone to hear his take on this song!”
In the music video, the duo starts in a cozy living room, reminiscing while flipping through old photo albums. Rice humorously reveals a picture from his youth beside a large trophy.

The two share a lighthearted moment, with Craft playfully suggesting they skip discussing Rice’s third-place finish behind his brothers, Casey and Chad. “That’s when you don’t tell people the story behind the picture,” she jokes.
Reflecting on family ties, Craft expressed gratitude, stating, “Just thinking back to high school and now, I would not have made it even halfway, I don’t think, without support.” She thanked “God for family and mommas” as the song commenced.
Rice commented on the authenticity of their music video experience. “My favorite music videos are the ones where you can be yourself and forget there’s a camera there. This was just two Carolina kids flipping through old photos and realizing how similar our upbringings were,” he shared. “Reminiscing with Ashland brought back a lot of memories and was a reminder of how grateful I am for my momma.”
The duet version of “Momma Don’t Pray” will officially drop on February 6.

In 2025, Craft released her sophomore full-length album, *Dive Bar Beauty Queen*, under the independent Nashville-based label Leo33, and recently opened for country superstar Luke Bryan.
She has also been recognized as a Pandora Country Artist to Watch and a CMT Next Woman of Country.
Meanwhile, Rice announced on January 7 that he would be stepping away from touring after completing a few upcoming shows. In his post, he expressed feeling “exhausted” after 13 years on the road. “This isn’t a goodbye thing or anything like that to be clear upfront. I need to go live life so that I have more real experiences to write down,” he stated.
