Jewelry Heist Near LAX Leaves Victim Bound in His Car
A dramatic jewelry heist unfolded Tuesday night at a parking structure close to Los Angeles International Airport, leaving a man bound and seeking help.
The victim, a man in his 50s, reported to police that he was approached by a masked gunman while inside his vehicle at Joe’s Airport Parking. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the robber pepper-sprayed the victim before binding him with tape, reportedly duct tape. The incident occurred around 8 p.m., and the assailant made off with approximately $400,000 worth of jewelry.
After the robbery, the victim was able to alert authorities by honking his car horn. Another individual nearby heard the commotion and intervened, leading to the discovery of the bound victim.
As of Wednesday morning, no arrests had been made in connection with the incident. The victim sustained injuries that, fortunately, are not considered life-threatening. The investigation is ongoing as police work to track down the suspect.
