Ariana Grande Receives Golden Globe Nomination for ‘Wicked: For Good’
Ariana Grande has earned her second consecutive nomination for a Golden Globe Award for her portrayal of Glinda in the Wicked film series. The nominations were announced on December 8, 2025.
The film, Wicked: For Good, garnered a total of five nominations, surpassing the four nominations received by last year’s Wicked. Grande expressed her gratitude on social media, stating, “thank you so much @goldenglobes for this tremendous honor and for recognizing this performance a second time. I’m so moved and grateful, there are truly no words. Thank you, thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Grande’s co-star Cynthia Erivo also received a nomination for her performance as Elphaba, marking her second consecutive year of recognition at the Golden Globes. This puts both actresses in the spotlight again, with Grande nominated in the category of Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture.
Grande, now 32, reflects on her dual nominations, calling the honor “definitely just as exciting [as last year’s] and kind of blindsiding.” She stated, “You don’t expect something like this, let alone [for it] to happen twice for the same role. So I’m just deeply honored. I’m just really moved by it,” she told The Hollywood Reporter after the nominations were revealed.
The competitive category features nominees such as Emily Blunt for The Smashing Machine, Elle Fanning and Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas for Sentimental Value, Amy Madigan for Weapons, and Teyana Taylor for One Battle After Another.
As for this year’s awards, Wicked: For Good will compete against notable films, with One Battle After Another leading the nominations with nine, followed by Sentimental Value with eight, and Sinners receiving seven.
Last year’s adaptation of Wicked saw four nominations, with the film winning the Cinematic and Box Office Achievement award. The film will again be up for this accolade alongside its seven nominations for the upcoming Critics Choice Awards.
The Golden Globe Awards ceremony is scheduled for January 11, 2026, hosted live by comedian Nikki Glaser, and will air at 8 PM ET. Viewers can also stream the event on Paramount+ in the U.S.
